SPCAA Newsletter - July 2020

Dear Alumni,

We would like to bring you the following news and annoucements:

1. SPC Foundation Updates

Dear Fellow Alumni,

After an eventful and shortened school term of 2019/2020, that saw students returning to their classrooms in May after staying home for a couple of months. Very soon, summer holiday will begin.

As anticipated, the unfavorable social climate in Hong Kong impacted our fundraising effort. However, we make use of the available time to give the organisation of the St. Paul’s College Foundation a total revamp to reflect a more structured management. This is essential, especially when the Endowment Fund becomes substantial and good governance is a must. I find it most heartwarming to see alumni with professional expertise and experience eager to help the cause.

At the same time, an on-going discussion is taking place to chart the path forward for St. Paul’s on how to nurture and educate our boys so that they are capable to better face the Brave New World in front of them. A world that is political, socially and financially polarised, with technologies that changes with lightning speed. This is an exciting and meaning exercise that has major ramifications for the College in the years to come.

We are moving forward to Campaign Two of the School Enhancement Project. Our Alumni Association and the College office will soon be sending you the “News from St. Paul’s” which include the updated construction process as well as the news from the Foundation. We hope you will enjoy reading the updates.

Please continue your support to us. Together we can build St. Paul’s into an exciting school for students to learn and to blossom. For more details and further information, please contact me or my team at 852-25462248 or info@spc-foundation.org.hk.

With regards,

Ian Chan Yau Nam (’67)
Chief Convenor
St. Paul’s College Foundation

5. 170th Anniversary Dinner Organising Committee

Sign up for the St Paul's College 170th Anniversary Dinner Organising Committee!

Our alma mater will turn 170 years old in 2021. To celebrate this historical anniversary, the St Paul's College Alumni Association (SPCAA) is now forming a committee to organise a gala dinner at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. This monumental task cannot be completed without the help of fellow SPC alumni, therefore we are openly recruiting Paulines who are interested in voluntarily serving as committee members. Please sign up by filling in the form via the below link, and you will be contacted by SPCAA shortly.
