2. School Enhancement Project Updates (December) Dear fellow alumni, 2019 has been a challenging year for Hong Kong. When St. Paul’s College decided to kick start the School Enhancement Project, we did not anticipate what we are experiencing today. At the same time, I think the situation is giving us another layer of meaning. There is no other time when Hong Kong is in more urgent need of quality education: one that equips our young people in facing a world full of challenges and possibilities, one that helps them in finding out what is right and what is wrong, and one that encourages them in seeing hope in despair. Thanks to the support of the alumni community, we have completed Campaign One of the Project. Campaign Two will see a new Entrance, an indoor Swimming Pool, and a modernized Library. We are also going to establish an Endowment Fund, to encourage and support students from less-privileged background to study in SPC. All these are to bring 21st Century to a St. Paul’s College that we have treasured and loved – adequate (by no means luxurious) facilities and inspired teaching and learning, gone through together with classmates with different background and talent. As you can imagine, fundraising is not easy these days. Donors and donees do not always share the same sense of urgency. But our education cannot be stopped. Every year we have 180 F.1 students stepping into our campus. Every year we have the F.6 students leaving the school to face their future. Every year we are making marks to young people who sing “all for each and each for all”. Therefore, as we are looking forward to a better 2020, I would like to appeal to your support of our alma mater. For more details, please visit our website www.spc-foundation.org.hk and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ We look forward to your continuous support for St. Paul’s College and please let us know if you have any suggestions or comments. Please contact us by phone at 852-25462248 or email to info@spc-foundation.org.hk. With regards, Ian Chan Yau Nam (’67) Fundraising Committee Members

4. SPC Foundation Fundraising Bazaar 2019
This will be a day of fun for the boys and excellent shopping opportunity for the adults! Since the Foundation has taken up the task of helping to start off the first phase of the School Enhancement Project, it has not organized any fundraising activity of its own. We have been able to mobilize support from alumni and friends and there are lots of bargains worth hunting for. The Foundation, the SPCAA and the PTAs will run booths to satisfy our customers. Our organizing committee has also worked really hard to bring together fun elements like experiences in the newly renovated STEM Lab. You might like to bid farewell to our swimming pool and enjoy s specially prepared cocktail at the pool side. Make it a family day where everybody can relax and enjoy. There will be food stalls! Tea will be served! Mouth-watering snacks will be waiting for you! Don’t miss it. You can also enjoy our LIVE figurines making workshop and can take home a special edition of a series of SPC mini figurines! The newly expanded classrooms will also be there for inspection! Sports and games will be organized! Be on the lookout for more details of the activities and the goodies we have prepared for you. For registration, please visit https://spcbazaar2019.
