3. Lauch of SPCAA's first ever Music CD "Go Tell It On The Mountain"

St. Paul’s College Alumni Association has launched its first-ever music CD on 29th November 2014. The compilation includes winning songs of St. Paul’s College in the Schools Music Festival across the past 50 years, performed by the St. Paul’s College Alumni Choir, student choirs of St. Paul's College and its Primary School, as well as professional musician alumni such as conductor Mr Raymond Fu and organist Mr Peter Yue.

A choir with 40 primary school students and alumni performed in the launching ceremony, singing Go Tell It On the Mountain and God be in My Head, and our beloved College Song in 4 parts , written by the late Revd Moses Wu.

The launch of this CD adds to the long music tradition of St. Paul's College and St. Paul's College Primary School. The collaboration between the Alumni Choir and the student choirs also shows the support from the alumni community towards development of the school and its students. For those who are interested to buy the CD, please contact Ms. Priscilla Fan by emailing to Priscilla.fan@alumni.org.hk or please call 94919668. The price of the CD is HK$100 each.

4. Beijing Alumni Dinner

In November, Mr. Raymond Fu, or better known to us as “Fu sir” visited Beijing with his wife Shirley. Fu Sir has started to teach music at St. Paul’s College since 1982 and only retired from his position as music department head in August this year after teaching for 33 years. He himself was also an alumni graduating form 5 in 1971 and form 7 in 1973.

A group of alumni, including Audie Wong (69), Sherman Leung (85) and his wife Janey, Colin Lau and Francis Chu (89), Leon Lam (91) and Alfred Shang (94), welcomed them at the Beijing HKJC Clubhouse for a very warm reunion and had a very enjoyable dinner.

The date and venue of the monthly Beijing alumni dinner in December will be confirmed soon. For enquiry and registration, please contact Sherman Leung at Fiona-JJ.Chen@cn.ey.com or Andy Law at lawwaihin@hotmail.com.

For basketball lovers, here's the annual big event! It will be a friendly, exciting and fun match between alumni and teachers, on 17th December 2014 (Wednesday), during lunch time at St. Paul's College.

All alumni are most welcomed to join as player or spectator. For enquiries and enrollment, please contact Anthony Chiu at kcantchiu@hotmail.com.

7. Alumni Choir sang at St. Paul's Church for Advent

On 30 November, more than 20 alumni choir members together with some students from St. Paul’s College were invited to St. Paul’s Church to sing and celebrate Advent.

During the service, the Revd Canon Ian Lam Sau Fung shared an anecdote that closely linked to the history of St. Paul's College and St. Paul's Church. The early part of the Church structure was a chapel originally built for the St. Paul’s College students for worshiping during the weekdays, both morning and evening prayers. As most students went home for weekends, the clergies then successfully asked for the permission to use the church for people living around the area for worshipping on Sunday. In fact, one of the priests who was driving this to happen was none other than the headmaster of St. Paul’s College Revd. A. D. Stewart. Since then, many prominent clergies who served at St. Paul's Church were graduates of SPC. Hence, for SPC alumnus and students, coming back to St. Paul's Church is indeed a homecoming!
